“Your body remembers trauma even when your conscience mind does not.”
Our *mind* can only hold a certain amount of information in our conscious awareness.
There’s simply way too much going on for the brain to remember EVERYTHING that’s happening.
But your BODY – your nervous system, gut, and cells – “absorb” a wealth of knowledge.
So if you’ve experienced any kind of abuse or trauma…
You might not be able to consciously recall every detail.
But you can be sure that your body has memories for all of the feelings, chemicals, and physical sensations associated with those traumas.
So if you’ve been working really hard to:
>Think more positively
>Change your self-talk
>”Think” your way to solutions
And yet you keep feeling stuck or even worse…
You may want to consider taking a “body” approach to healing.
That means doing things like:
>Restorative yoga
>Deep breathing exercises
>Somatic-based therapies
